Will you journey with us this Lent?

Carrying a heavy burden is not only Christ’s journey, but also the reality of the many people we serve at Catholic Charities.

When we see Christ fall, we can also imagine our brothers and sisters struggling with unforeseen bills, employment, physical health, transportation, childcare, and mental health. Like Christ’s cross, these issues can be a terrible weight to carry.

As Christians, we believe in the hope that awaits us at the end of this difficult journey. Christ endured the pain of the cross for our salvation, and we place our trust in that sacrifice. But not everyone can see the light Easter casts.

That’s why Catholic Charities is here. Our mission is to serve all those in need, just as Christ calls us to do. Our staff is dedicated to providing support and hope to those who need it most:

  • The young mother wanting to graduate from high school

  • The child benefiting from therapy at school

  • The parent needing food to put on the table tonight

  • The refugee child enrolling in school for the first time

  • The family whose heat is keeping them warm during winter

Will you journey with us on this long road to hope?

The challenges of poverty, lack of education, and mental health issues do not have easy solutions. There is not a simple answer to these social issues, but as the Human Service Arm of the Catholic Church, we answer the call to assist all those struggling in our diocese. We cannot continue our work without your help.

This Lent, we are asking you to share in the burden our neighbors face. As part of your Lenten almsgiving, will you support our mission?

$1,000 ................................…………………….. Keeps a family in their home with the heat on

$500 .......................................................... Provides counseling for a month

$250 .......................................................... Provides 40+ food pantry meals

$100 ....................................……………………. Gives a baby diapers and wipes for a month

$50 ............................................................ Gives two children a warm coat

Your gift of hope will support the Stability, Pro-Life, Migration, and Counseling services we provide throughout our three regional offices.

During Holy Week, we ask that you remember to pray for our staff and all those we serve. We joyfully anticipate the resurrection of our Lord on Easter, and we are grateful for your support on this journey.

Yours in Christ,

Dan Florin  |  CEO of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend
