Meeting More Than a Need

When Kimberly reached out to us, she shared that her family's SNAP benefits had unexpectedly ended because her income was just three dollars over the eligibility limit. Overnight, she found herself wondering how she would provide food, diapers, hygiene items, and other necessities for her family.

Our food pantry was able to respond immediately. Together, we gathered more than 40 pounds of nutritious food, hygiene supplies for each family member, and the diapers and wipes her baby needed. While meeting those immediate needs was important, we knew our support couldn't stop there.

Kimberly was also connected with one of our case managers, who met with her to develop goals and connect her to additional community resources that could strengthen her family's long-term stability.

Moments like these remind me that a visit to the food pantry is often the beginning of something much greater. By listening, encouraging, and connecting families with ongoing support, we are able to provide more than food—we help build hope for tomorrow.
