Stamp Out Hunger: Join DeKalb County’s Effort to Feed Neighbors in Need This Saturday

This Saturday, May 10, 2025, DeKalb County residents have a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of their neighbors. The National Association of Letter Carriers’ Annual “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive, the nation’s largest one-day food drive, is back and your participation matters more than ever!

How It Works

Taking part is simple. Just place a bag of non-perishable food donations by your mailbox before your regular mail delivery on Saturday. Your local letter carrier will collect your donation and ensure it reaches community food banks and pantries, including Catholic Charities’ Community Center of Caring Food Pantry in Auburn.

Why Your Donation Matters

Nearly 1 in 5 Americans, including children, seniors, and veterans, face food insecurity and are unsure where their next meal will come from. By Spring, many food pantries are running low on supplies after the winter holidays, and the end of the school year means many children lose access to free or reduced-price meals. Your donation helps fill this critical gap.

What to Donate

  • Canned vegetables, fruits, and meats

  • Boxed meals and pasta

  • Peanut butter and jelly

  • Rice, beans, and cereal

  • Shelf-stable milk and juice

Please avoid donating items that are expired, open, or perishable.

Thank you for supporting the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive and helping to build a stronger, more caring community!
