EVENT: Catholic ChariTEA

In honor of Mother’s Day, join Catholic Charities on April 28th at the Fort Wayne Country Club for an afternoon of tea with your mother, sisters, and friends.

For the ultimate Mother’s Day experience, join us to gripe, grow, and give gratitude with PFW professor, Lesa Rae Vartanian, PhD. During the afternoon, women will have the chance to vent, connect with other women facing the world's challenges, and walk away with a renewed sense of joy. So invite your group of girls that need a day together, put on your Sunday’s Best, and be ready for an afternoon focused on taking care of YOU!

This event will benefit our Counseling Services, which provides mental health services to 13 Catholic schools, as well as therapy, group addiction counseling, and clinical navigation to all those in need throughout our diocese.

About the Speaker:

A developmental psychologist who specializes in adolescence, aging, and education about end-of-life issues, Lesa has been a full-time faculty member in the Psychology Department at Purdue Fort Wayne since 1997. Her research has been published in academic as well as popular outlets. She is the recipient of various campus awards for excellence in teaching, student advising, and campus service, and she serves our community in a variety of ways: Lesa is a member of the Board of Directors for Erin’s House for Grieving Children, where she has volunteered as a trained group facilitator. She is a Respecting Choices © volunteer facilitator for Parkview’s Advanced Care Planning department, and a long-time volunteer for Camp Red Cedar. Lesa also works as an educational consultant, helping those who work with teens better understand how young people develop, and how to best facilitate that development. When she’s not in some kind of traditional classroom, she’s probably at the horse barn, helping little girls grow their self-confidence and leadership skills with the help of some big horses. She is most proud to be mom to an extraordinary young woman who is nearing the end of her first year of college.
