The Community’s Generosity Fills Our Backpacks

Catholic Charities receiving backpacks from HomeFront Home Health and Home Care

Our Pack-A-Backpack Program ensures struggling families receive school supplies so every child can begin the school year with confidence. So when our annual grant for the program was not renewed this year, we turned to the community for help.

Collection bins were placed throughout Auburn, including the Mayor’s Office, Police Department, Star Technology, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and Walmart. When a local news channel featured our story, neighbors quickly responded through our Amazon Wish List and donation barrels.

One viewer, Drew from HomeFront Home Health and Home Care, rallied his team to donate 380 backpacks—well beyond our goal of 300. Since backpacks are the most expensive item on school lists, this gift made a huge impact. The Auburn Shifters Car Club also raised $1,500 for supplies.

Our team attended several local back-to-school nights to hand out items to over 300 kids, with the remaining supplies distributed at our Auburn food pantry.

Thanks to incredible community support, no child will fall through the cracks this school year.

Coats for Kids

During winter, we help families in need by providing free coats for growing children, ensuring they stay warm, healthy, and confident during cold temperatures.

Seniors share talents to benefit community

The Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) empowers older adults to share their skills through volunteer service. From greeting hospital visitors to assisting in preschool classrooms, they are strengthening the community through every act.

.Returning Dollars to the Community

The annual VITA tax program provides free tax filing for low-income individuals. We train volunteers to help clients prepare and submit accurate returns on time, ensuring timely access to refunds.

Food Pantries Fill Gaps

The Community Center of Caring Food Pantry in downtown Auburn helps struggling families bridge the gap between paydays and meals, serving as a vital source of hope and support.
