November: Hope Begins with Action
The goal of this newsletter is to highlight the Church’s mission of love—and help your family bring that mission to life at home and in the community.
THIS MONTH'S FOCUS:
👉 CST Theme: Preferential Option for the Poor
🌟 Corporal Work of Mercy: Give alms to the poor
✝️ Scripture: “Blessed are the poor in spirit...” – Matthew 5:3
🕊 Saint: St. Martin de Porres (Nov 3) – Humble servant of the sick and poor
From Poverty to Family: A Month of Mercy
November invites us deeper into compassion:
🌍 World Day of the Poor: Jesus reminds us to see His face in the suffering. Your gifts meet real needs every day.
👶 National Adoption Month: Our long history of adoption work has connected loving families with children.
💙 Giving Tuesday (Nov 26): Join a national movement of generosity—and help us close the year strong.
🎄 Christmas Program sponsors still needed! Will you make Christmas possible for a child in need?
Ways to Put Your Faith in Action This Month:
✅ Make a "Thankful Tree" at home—add a leaf each day with someone you're praying for or thankful for, including our neighbors in need.
✅ Sponsor a family through a community Christmas Program
✅ Pray for adoptive families and children praying for a loving family
✅ Fill a “gratitude jar” all month and give to your favorite charity
✅ Donate items to your local food pantry
✅ Create cold weather kits (hats, gloves, socks, blankets) and donate them to a shelter or hand them out to the homeless
