May: Hope Begins with Action

The goal of this newsletter is to highlight the Church’s mission of love—and help your family bring that mission to life at home and in the community.

THIS MONTH'S FOCUS:

👉 CST Theme: Dignity of Work and Rights of Workers

🌟 Corporal Work of Mercy: Visit the sick; instruct the ignorant

✝️ Scripture: “The laborer deserves his wages.” – Luke 10:7

🕊 Saint: St. Joseph the Worker (Feast: May 1)

Mental Health and Dignity for All

As Catholics, in May, we honor Mary, Mother of God. Inspired by Mary, let us find ways to nurture our physically and mentally sick neighbors in need.

🗣 Mental Health Awareness Month: Our counselors walk with people through anxiety, grief, and loneliness. We are also training parishioners to be advocates in the diocesan Catholic Mental Health Ministry. Check out our news page for Catholic Mental Health resources.

👵 Older Americans Month: Our SCSEP and RSVP programs empower seniors to find purpose and connection again.

Ways to Put Your Faith in Action This Month:

✅ Review Catholic mental health resources or pray this novena
Sponsor a counseling session for someone in mental distress
✅ Read a prayer to St. Joseph the Worker on May 1 as an intercession for those seeking work

✅ “Call Grandma” Challenge—each week in May, reach out to a senior family member or neighbor.
